Employment Opportunities

Bakery Assistant

Part-Time, starting $14/hour with room for growth based on experience.

Accountabilities/Duties: 

  • Follows Baylee Bakes recipes and production methods with precision and achieves productivity goals.

  • Effectively utilizes measuring instruments, commercial-grade mixers, and ovens under management supervision (after training & courses).

  • Accurately prepares ingredients and equipment for baking, places cookie pans into a hot oven, and monitors the baking process.  

  • Adheres to the proper packaging, labeling, and storage of baked cookies.

  • Assists the Bakery Manager in the development of cookie design plans, monitors inventory of baking supplies, and notifies management when supply replenishment is required.  

  • Cleans, sanitizes, and restocks the workstation and ensures all baking supplies are sufficiently prepared for the next shift.

  • Complies with all health and safety guidelines and policies and procedures, including adherence to dress code and personal hygiene.  

  • Maintains a consistent work attendance and punctuality record.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Is able to understand written and oral directions, interpret instructional documents such as recipes, operating procedures, and health and safety rules, and apply knowledge to perform job responsibilities. 

  • Understands basic units of measurement used in the U.S.   

  • Has the ability to perform repetitious, physical tasks that require the strength to lift items of moderate to heavy weight (as much as 50 pounds) and stand for extended periods of time. 

  • Is able to operate commercial-grade ovens and other bakery equipment (prior experience is not necessary as you will be trained on it) and work adjacent to a high-heat source. 

  • Is meticulous about using exact measurements, paying attention to timing, and working on a tight, fast-paced production schedule.

  • Can evaluate products, processes, information, and surroundings to determine compliance with standards. 

  • Possesses the discipline and attention to detail to strictly adhere to health and safety practices and work environment standards. 

  • Is diligent, organized, and self-motivated with the ability to operate independently with minimal supervision. 

Education and Work Experience Requirements:

  • Applicants must be 18 years of age or older. 

  • No prior bakery experience is necessary.

  • Located in Athens, GA at least on weekdays between the first week of August and the third week of May. 


Work Availability: 

Availability is needed anytime between 9 AM and 5 PM Monday through Friday for 12-15 hours per week. Weekends and holidays are not necessary. There is flexibility on shifts- schedules can either be set per semester or change weekly depending on what works best for you but a 4-hour shift is preferred. Hiring will be prioritized based on availability and filling the hours between 9 AM and 5 PM completely (Bakery Manager will be supervising assistants at all times).

Digital Media Intern

Part-Time, starting $10/hour with room for growth based on experience.

Accountabilities/Duties: 

  • Develop, curate, and edit engaging written, video, & photo content for social media platforms. (Instagram/Reels, Facebook, TikTok, and Pinterest).

  • Updating the company website and Google Drive.

  • Stay up-to-date on the latest social media practices, trends, and algorithms.

  • Assist in the creation of social media graphics via Canva.

  • Maintain a unified brand voice across different social media channels.

  • Interact with users and respond to social media messages, inquiries, and comments and report on feedback from users.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, open to feedback, and able to work both independently and with a team.

  • Passion for social media and proficiency with major social media platforms and social media management tools (particularly Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and Pinterest).

  • Some experience with website hosts (particularly Wix).

  • Some understanding of social media KPI’s is a plus.

Education and Work Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Familiarity with Canva and LightRoom (anything else is a plus).

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Currently studying a related field is a plus.

  • Located in Athens, GA at least on weekdays between the first week of August and the third week of May.
